Manfred Scharpf
The power and painterly refinement based on the use of historical painting techniques make Manfred Scharpf an exceptional phenomenon in art. As a graduate of the Master School for Church Painting in Munich, his work is inconceivable without the spirit of the cultural workshops from which he himself emerged and from which he drew his knowledge of processes and substances, for him sacred substances. The painting techniques of the Italian Renaissance, especially those of Leonardo, combine in alchemical concoction with his own experiences from the „ laboratory of life“ to form solitaires of art. Sources of strength that in the first quarter of the 21st century recall and preserve what remains.
With the content of his paintings, however, he reacts to current themes of our time and thus builds a bridge between the past and the present. The impressive quality of his work has led to exhibitions and appearances in the art metropolis of New York, Berlin and the European Parliament in Brussels, among other places.
